• Night Trap was originally developed by James Riley, Rob Fulop, and Tom Zito for the unreleased Control-Vision system (codenamed NEMO) which used VHS tapes instead of cartridges.
• Star Dana Plato (Kelly) is known best for her role as Kimberly on the television show "Diff'rent Strokes."
• Night Trap is infamous for its part in the 1990s Congressional hearings on video game violence. These hearings eventually led to the ESRB rating system.
