I've been in contact with Merlix recently and he's been kind enough to offer me the source code for his Night Trap/SEGA-CD viewer. If I could incorporate some of his code into my Night Trap engine build, or at least use it as a base for .SGA video decompression, then we could absolutely have a complete and native Windows version available without any Sega emulators needed (of course, the game would require Night Trap for SEGA/MEGA-CD, but at least it's a start)!

Wonderful news!!!

After reading the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_Surge on it, I don't think you're really going to find much since it was merged into Game Over. Hope I'm wrong though.

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R24BaUFL3U8 - Yay I'm wrong!

Edit #2: This sadly inspired me to order Game Over on DVD from Amazon.com for $0.01. The S&H cost more than the movie :\

I've never comes across any footage from it, then again I was not exactly looking for this title. If I find anything (ala that 45 mins) wil let you know. I do know footage of the game is on youtube, but I am not sure if it was lifted from Game Over or not

PS: welcome to the forum!

Hello everyone,

Does anyone here have any footage / any press materials from / about the unpublished game MAXIMUM SURGE? I know some parts of it were edited into GAME OVER film, but this was just a tiny fraction of the game footage. This is what I found on IMDB Snippets of a rough cut of the first 45 minutes of this game/move were leaked online, but in vhs quality video. As an fmv game all action scenes and events have alternate scenes if you fail or do something wrong, this cut was as if you did everything correct. The bootleg cut can be found on lots of torrent sites and forums, though it is considered somewhat rare.

So does anyone here got it, or seen in or know how can I get it?

Thanks in advance

Via Joystiq.com: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/dragons-lair-wall-graphics-demand-to-be-put-up-up-up/

To some, their home is their castle. Now it can be a dragon's lair. LTL Prints – the Philadelphia company that introduced an eye-popping lineup of Jet Set Radio Future wall graphics back in December 2009 – is unveiling its latest cling-on art today, based on the classic 1983 arcade game Dragon's Lair by animator Don Bluth and designer Rick Dyer.

The graphics have been taken straight from the legendary laserdisc-based game, cleaned up and include the bumbling-yet-heroic Dirk the Daring, the hapless Princess Daphne and her captor, Singe the dragon. LTL Prints is offering the graphics starting at $14.95 for versions sized to fit laptop lids, all the way up to more expensive, 7-foot-tall prints. The look absolutely amazing -- we're just sad we can't order a 1:1 scales version of Singe. Then again, we'd need a really tall wall .

I like this so far!

It has a cyberpunky kind of feel to it (then again it might be because of the interesting visuals, which mixes live action and animation though appearing like it was toned down through a 16 bit filter-- more so like one of the older style of fmv games phantasmagoria)

The basic plot is a love story, but with enough adult humor and randomness not to fall into any sort of "mush" category. A lot of the characterization reminds me of the films "Nowhere" or the "Doom Generation". The game/film has that type of character vibe going for it. In fact the game really has the "1990's indie, arty, alternative person" feel which makes me wonder how old the creators of this are, because the 90s culture influence is strong (at least in my mind)

The game seems to be well made and gives you enough choices and options to satisfy your fmv playing needs, a password feature would have been great however.

Definitely add this one to your fmv title shopping list-- and kudos to cruisefx for bringing it to my attention

I picked up the game yesterday at BestBuy. If you do pick it up at the store, note that the have it in the movie section under comedy.

Though it  is still sealed up on my floor I want to try it out for at least a few minutes today

thanks again for the heads up on this.

I also found the "first interactive adventure film" listing on the cover to be funny, since that is not true at all
